I've been working on a fight / comedy manga concept called 'Rumble Park'. It's about a a teenage band called 'Teen Ulcer' who lose a battle of the bands and have to enter Koen Park - a mystical 150 mile long and wide park filled with crazy gangs, monsters, aliens etc. In a nod to Hirohiko Araki's penchant for musical references in naming characters , the gangs are all based on musical sub-genres and the like. Here we have Barry Goosei, VERY loosely based on Gary Busey's portrayal of 50's rocker Buddy Holly. Barry is a disgruntled musician who employs voodoo to resurrect 'Richie' & 'BB' to reform the 50's R&R sensation 'The Jiminies' with himself as a counterfeit band leader Billy Hopper. Amassing an army of Japanese 'Rokabiri' enthusiasts, Barry plans on destroying the world for ruining his career and, thusly, Rock and Roll.
